Everyone needs fiber in their diets. The benefits of eating a high fiber diet makes it a necessary undertaking for all.

Taking enough fiber will make your body transform itself into a super fast highway to speed up and eliminate waste from your system. This is great because various carcinogens will attach themselves to the fiber and be speedily removed from your system.

The body doesn’t absorb fiber. In fact fiber is what is left over after we have squeezed the last nutrients out of our food. To stay in peak health we need to eat 25 to 35 grams of fiber a day. Most of us are lucky to get 14 grams.

By simply tweaking your diet, it is possible to get your 25 to 35 grams of fiber. By doing this you can greatly improve your health. Cholesterol levels will be lowered. You will lower your risk of getting certain cancers, and certain types of tumor growth will be slowed down.

There are two different types of fiber, soluble and insoluble. Each type of fiber works differently to fight disease.

Insoluble fiber comes from the cells that make up the walls of different plants. The body can’t absorb insoluble fiber, and it doesn’t break down as it passes through the digestive system. This is what give your stool bulk and helps it to move faster through your intestines.

All vegetables, fruits and whole grains are also high in fiber. Beans, whether canned or dried are a great

source of soluble fiber. Oat bran is another excellent source. You can eat this either added to your cereal, or in your bread. Make sure you always buy high fiber bread, as refined wheat looses its fiber, as well as trace minerals.

Save the water from canned beans for soups, as this water contains a lot of soluble fiber. Eat your fruit unpeeled, as the skin has lots of fiber. The white rind on oranges also provides a good dose of fiber. Fruits and vegetables should be eaten whole rather than in juice form. Other natural supplements like Forskolin extract can provide soluable fiber in the form of a capsule. If forskolin sounds familiar, it’s probably becasue you’ve seen Dr. Oz Forskolin on the popular daytime TV show.

When buying groceries, make sure to check the labels and fine print. Fiber should be listed within the first four ingredients and also take a note of the grams of fiber. Learn to balance the fiber content against other ingredients. Even if the product is high in fiber, it will be no good if it is also high in fats and sugars.

Without your health you really have nothing. Sure, you can live a long time, but if you are in poor health, how high a quality life did you really have or are you living? Our quality of life comes down to the quality of products we put into our bodies, along with what we do with our energy i.e. exercise versus watching TV.

Conquering a healthy diet is a big step for many, so to help you get there we are going to discuss some healthy eating tips that you can live with.

The first step is to take a look at what you are eating and evaluate it. But, to go a step further, I am not talking about the just any fruits, vegetables, nuts, meats, etc; you need to buy and eat the fresh stuff. This being said, you are not getting near the quality when you eat canned foods as they are soaked with preservatives and toxins that your body does not need or want.

The second step would be to replace the entire negative food intake with high quality food intake. Now, this is not an overnight process. Most of us have eaten particular foods our entire lives; therefore, just breaking these habits may not be easy. It’s okay though, it is possible; it’s just a matter of taking baby steps. Start with one meal or snack at a time.

Say breakfast, for example. Do this for a couple of days and move on to the next meal or snack. Before long, all of your snacks and meals will be healthier.

How many times a day do you eat? Even if you are eating three times a day, you need to bump it up. The ideal eating plan will include 5-6 small meals throughout the day, typically 2-3 hours apart. This may sound a bit tedious, and many wonder how they can fit this into their busy schedules.

Don’t worry; once you make a habit out of it, it becomes second nature. Plan for at least two of these ‘meals’ to be snacks, which are easy to pack and take with you wherever you go. So, you want to find snacks that you can do this with. On top of that, prepare your meals ahead of time, either the evening before, or on Sundays before you start your week.

Whether you are looking to lose weight or simply get more out of your life, eating a healthy diet is the way to go. While this may be a complete lifestyle change for you and your loved ones, it will be well worth it. A healthier you means there is more of you to go around for not only your friends and family, but yourself as well. Enjoy the one life you have to the fullest; the only way to do that is to take care of what you have.
